Happy July, my Fearless Followers!

Six weeks post hip surgery. My focus for July is to try getting in the kayak and back on water, and try my bicycle. I feel like I am missing my summer - which is very short in Minnesota!

I am paying more attention to my food choices and portions. I did well yesterday, and still had a few Doritos - my kryptonite! I portion control them - but eventully the bag will be empty and I can move on.

TMI - cauliflower rice blows up my stomach! Cruciferous vegetables are healthy and nutritious. However, they contain thiocyanates, which can block iodine absorption. People with thyroid problems should not eat very large amounts of these veggies.

And yes, I take thyroid medication due to my long term thyroid issue...who knew?

Greetings my Faithful Followers!

I feel fat and uncomfortable - it has been more difficult to manage my calories and my usual I/F schedule! I hope July will show improved control. I seem to need motivation...the photo is probably when I was under age 20!

Also, my husband got laid off from his job which equates to retirement.
He was planning to work one more year so it was a little of a shock for us.

I am coming up on six weeks post hip surgery! I am walking more frequently on trails with hills and uneven ground as we take the dog out to the dog parks. This is progress! I am almost able to take stairs normally, too.

I have done some upper body dumbbells, and my plan is to try out the elliptical and my bicycle this week. Orange Theory Fitness is open with big modifications so not quite ready to go there...hopefully we do not get a second wave of Covid-19 that shuts them down again.

Happy New Week, My Fiery Followers!

Today I was able to start using dumbbells again for arm work...some of it seated and some of it standing. The hip is pretty good but not quite ready for squats or deadlifts though I think maybe later this week!

And, starting to do longer IF - 21/3 - which is sort of OMAD. Eventually I will do better with the calories. Not quite ready for elliptical yet but will try it out next week perhaps!

KICKING IT UP A NOTCH!!

Greetings, my Favorite FS Peeps!

WOW - so it has been about 30 days since hip replacement surgery and I am rocking it!

I am driving my Miata convertible all around, getting to do groceries and errands independently, and plan to start upper body dumbbell work next week!

Eventually, I can start gentle elliptical!

The Orange Theory is open but with big limitations - I am not ready to go back anyway and plan to wait until they are hopefully closer to normal
