Happy Weekend, my FS Warriors!

I had my surgery follow-up yesterday and was told I was doing awesome with my recovery! They did an x-ray and said the hip replacement joint was perfectly placed.

I am walking with and without a cane and it is less than four weeks! Amazing!

As soon as I feel ready, I can drive. Then, can do gentle elliptical when I have the strength to do it. Slow and steady wins the race!

Kayak and bicycle - here we come!

Happy New Week, my Ferocious Followers!

Never Give Up!

I am walking more (with a cane) and doing some nice distances after my hip surgery. Several loops around the dog park for the last three days in beautiful weather also helped my mood. Surgeon said walk, walk, walk and ice, ice, ice.

Tomorrow is only three weeks out from surgery! Orange Theory may open soon in a modified way - I cannot go back yet but I will be curious how they will manage the issues.

Greetings my fantastic followers!

Things are moving forward with my surgery recovery - it is only two weeks out and I am starting to walk on my own already - not too far - but I can do it! My appetite is back to normal so I plan to start paying attention to calories again.

I am hopeful after my next post-operative visit I will be cleared to drive, and possibly start slowly on the elliptical to increase my range of motion. I will see doctor on June 11th and I always follow the directions.

I once read that healing is genetic and a doctor once told me I was a quick healer - it is good!

I STILL MISS my Orange Theory Fitness! The photo is one year ago on my 64th birthday!

Happy Weekend, my Fiery Followers!

Today was my best day overall. It is day 11 post hip surgery and I was able to get up and down the stairs with a cane so I could go out.

My husband drove and we did lots of errands; and I even made it to the dog park walking far enough into the park to sit on a bench.

I immediately got back on the walker once I was home as I was tired and needed a nap - but it was great to get out. I have been managing with acetaminophen, and pain meds only at night for sleep.

Ice and continued movement is making a quicker recovery - which is what the surgeon ordered.

Happy New Week, my FS Peeps!

I am getting more mobile every day. I am using the walker for most activities and trying to get up and down from the chair and bed frequently. Tylenol and ice seem to be helping the best.

My digestion is almost back to normal though my appetite is still low - I tried to eat more frequently yesterday but just ended up feeling bloated and tired.

I WILL SURVIVE AND BE WELL in a few weeks! KAYAK DREAMING!
