Greetings my FS friends:

I just realized I have not logged for about a week! I have been positively occupied as I just competed a four day Zoom webinar where I was the student; and another three day Zoom webinar where I was a teaching assistant.

Sitting with my leg elevated and an ice pack has helped speed my progress.
I am up and down from chairs easily, able to stand in the shower already, and am quite mobile. I use the walker going from room to room but can see I will move to just a cane in another few days. I still need help in and out of bed, and getting dressed but my husband is generous.

The second hip was much less damaged to start with so that is likely why I am having less pain and a stronger recovery - as well as having physically and mentally prepared! Next Spring, I will be bionic!

Happy Friday, my Fabulous FS Followers!

I am just three days post surgery and doing incredible! Because the second hip was less damaged to start with, my hip replacement surgery was only 90 minutes! The orthopedic center has their own overnight program and I was sent home on Wednesday.

I am already able to stand, get up and down from chairs, and the bed with the walker or cane. Lots of ice, elevation and some pain medication are making it much less difficult than the last time.

Happy Weekend, my FS peeps!

I am again assistant teaching a Zoom online class all weekend through Monday. Then TUESDAY is my second full hip replacement surgery! I am excited to complete the process but sad to have to stop activity for several weeks.

Since I cannot get out right away, I will look at my photo of a local wooded road near where we live!

I desperately want to stay on track with calorie counts during my rehabilitation so I will continue to food log - including the good, the bad and the ugly!

Happy New Week, my Fearless Followers!

I had my weekend carbolooza and now feel ready to be back to my usual foods. Frankly, food is less attractive to me. What I mean is that I can have the expanded calorie and carbs day and I think my body just screams at me, "Stop it."

I like my typical foods that manage carbs and increase protein. That routine is more healthy and my body thanks me.

What do you do that causes your body to thank you?

Happy Weekend, my Fantastic Followers!

I did it! My pre-op physical was today and I was six pounds under the required weight! All that exercise and severe calorie restriction (under 600 calories a day!) worked...but it is not the preferred way to lose!

Today and the weekend is calorie overload days! We might have Chinese food and maybe ice cream...then I will go back to serious counting again especially since I will be unable to exercise after surgery!

I went to Orange Theory Fitness after the doctor appointment and did pretty well. Two or three more classes to go before I will be shut down following surgery on October 6th. I will miss it!
