Its hump day!!
I'm sitting here deciding on weather I can make it for a nice small walk before it rains. I just may go walk in the rain anyway! I used to love doing that, as long as it was just a rain, and not a thundering downpour!!
I'm enjoying a huge salad, that I missed yesterday. I had an appointment with the oral surgeon. We are scheduled for the 29th of next month. Ugh, I know I want to lose weight, but not like this. I won't be able to really eat anything for at least 4 months!! If I can cook it to a mushy mess, or puree it, or drink it, thats what I'll be doing at least until the stitches come out, and the swelling goes down enough that I can at least try to gum it to death!!

For those that don't know, or are saying WHAT?? FOUR MONTHS?? I am getting all of my remaining teeth pulled. I have a LOT of bone loss, so I won't be getting my plates until I heal. That also gives me some time to save up the money I need to pay for them. I am enjoying things that I can chew right now, lol!! I have a month to enjoy it, then it will be soft stuff for a little while! Oh well, take it as it comes, and deal with it!!
I'm off to crochet some fingerless gloves. I promised to make some for the little icecream shop up the road. They have a small display on the counter for Relay for Life, and I told them I'll donate some gloves that they can sell.

Have a fabulous Wednesday everyone!!!

This is a great day for walking...lol!!
I decided to walk to the post office to pick up some shipping supplies, and to mail something out. I found out through a neighbor, that that is just a little over a mile. Woo!! Well, I walked a little faster than I have been, and I was a little out of breath when I got there, but I was good!! It felt great!! Of course, it is warm today, and I ended up all sweaty, but hey!! I felt great!!

That is the whole thing about good exercise, it makes you feel wonderful! I remember when I was heavier, that if I could just loose the weight without exercise, I would be happy!! I think we were all there, at that place. Then I started this, I'm hoping my last, weight loss journey. I will never say diet. I'm not on a "diet". I am on a journey to health, a journey to living better, breathing better, FEELING BETTER!!! Yes, I have changed the way I eat, and yes, I do count calories, more or less, Yes, I exercise when I can.
BUT....I eat what I want. I exercise when I want. And I am losing the weight, and feeling infinitely better, both physically AND Mentally!

It has been a year since I started here, and the change in me both physically and emotionally is astounding. I have a ton more confidence, I think more than I ever had before!! I just told the Postmistress, this website was a Godsend!! I love my FS family!! You all have pulled me through some pretty hairy times, and kept me on my path, and firmly grounded to my decision to make this journey, and to keep on it to the end, when ever that may be!! I hope I in turn have help some of you!!

I think I'm going to go for now, I have to grab the chicken thighs out of the freezer, as I'm making them with stuffing, an I need them thawed out good. I was ecstatic when I found them, they are boneless and skinless!!
Give them a little pound when thawed, add a little garlic powder, a tad of salt and pepper, put the stuffing in the middle, roll them up, sprinkle the outside with above seasoning, evoo in a nice small baking dish, foil over the top, oven at 350 for about an hour. MMMMM!!!!

Now that I have everyone drooling, I'm leaving!!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed... x=(>.<)=x
The car has been running good since the hub put in the alternator we should have gotten at the beginning. He said it seems like it has more power than it had, and seems to be running right.

I am going to find out...lol, as we have a Walmart trip scheduled for a few minutes from now. I still cannot get over the guys at the store, they were trying to blame all of this on my husband, and then they said we owed them 6 more dollars...can you believe that?? They should be thankful I didn't go over there,as I would have ripped them a new one!!!

Enough of that. I went to see my new PCP, or should I say his PA. I like her, she is really nice, and gives me tons of information, and is really helpful with what I could do/should do with my conditions. So, I weighed myself before I left, and they weighed me there, and we are in agreement, 227!!
We discussed pulmonary therapy, and in her op, all I need to do is walk a little faster, get my heart rate up, and the heavy breathing will help strengthen my lungs. Now, I have COPD, a combo of Emphysema and chronic bronchitis. She said as long as I wasn't having trouble breathing (more than I have right now) then I really didn't need it. I agreed, after we talked, an it does make more sense. I know how much I can do, and how hard I can breathe before I get really out of breath. I know my limit.

We also discussed changing my pain meds. I'm on tramadol right now, and I told her that it's not helping with pain anymore. She seemed a little puzzled as to why I wasn't on an noninflammatory, like mobic. I told her I was, but it didn't work. Well, she thought it may be a good idea, and with my fibro/arthritis that we would try gabapentin. Just started that last night. I also told her about how I felt when I missed a dose of the tramadol, and she told me I have restless leg syndrome also..go figure..lol!! She said that part of my problem was probably that. We talked about it, and I had to agree with her. Sheesh!! Add another thing to the growing list!! lmao!!

Well, the hubby just told me that we are going to Wally world tomorrow. Lord I gotta love that man!! Well, I'm off to go get some dinner, don't know what yet,

Have a great day everyone!!

What is it lately with me and journals on thursdays??

Well, I am finally back, and I am going to have to push myself to start journaling again. Being offline has made me journal lazy! I could never add a journal entry with my phone, for some unforseen reason, and I definitely couldn't do it with my kindle.
I wish I had taken some pics of me and my hubby perched in the corner of the front window's, trying to get a signal from my neighbors wifi..lol!! At least we got that situated, and now I'm back sitting on my not so comfy couch, with my trusty laptop!! At least this stupid couch is more comfortable than in the corner of those windows!!

OK, I'm going to try to get everyone up to speed with me, lol! Everything has been going well, and I was really being good during my small exile from the net. I was still watching what I ate, tried to drink more water, and get some exercise. Our car decided to go pffft on us at the beginning of the month.

With the way it was acting, common sense would tell you to get a new alternator.I won't bore you with the trip details, just that we ended up on the side of the interstate, with a somehow dead battery. We live in North central West Virginia, and we have Courtesy Trucks that patrol the interstates. Well, we had one roll up, gave us a jump, car started, and off we went. Until we hit the exit for the truckstop. We ended up calling a friend, and we managed to get the beast home, after several more stops and several more hours.

The hubs and neighbor went and got another one from Advance Auto. :/ They gave them the wrong one, and they had to go back, with the old one in hand. They bring home the "right" one, and put it on the car....ran good for 2 days. Dead again... OK, Back to the store, get a replacement, (they had to order it). Put that one on, and it ran for 5 days. Got stuck on Rt 50 in Clarksburg, ended up with a $90 tow home. (which is cheap here)
Get the dumb alternator checked, its toast. OK...get a replacement...have to wait because they had to order it. Get that one and put it on....damn car is still going haywire and burnt out another alternator. Now in all this mess, the battery is still good.
Hubby got a final replacement (so they think) and got stuck and had to have the car towed home, another $60. I had it towed to the Ford garage, and $110 later (fuming at that) they said, " your alternator is bad" Duh...ya think??

So, I asked my love if he told them it was a 24 valve DOHC. (double over head cam) and he said yep. Well, I went online, to see about the amperage of the stupid thing, and guess what,I checked their part, that was for a 2003 Taurus, not a 1999, and it was lower amperage than what we were supposed to have. The one we were supposed to have, was a little below the one they gave us the first time. If they would have paid attention, and looked and asked a few pertinent questions, we would not have had to go through all this crap!! An the one we were suppose to have was cheaper. I told the hubbs, to tell those guys to credit us with the difference, and be glad I wasn't there, because I would take it out of their backsides!! I think I'm still going to email the company.

In other news, I finally got my needed bump, and finally got below 230!!
lol, it took me going to have a colonoscopy to do it though!! Oh well! Everything is good there. They found 2 polyps, and took the big one, and left the tiny one. I have to go on the 30th for a post op checkup.
I also have an appointment with an oral surgeon on the 23rd. I hate to say it, but I'll have no choice in losing more weight, because I will be getting ALL my teeth out by this time next month. The Dentist I saw was the sweetest man, he looked like a little elf..lol! This guy is shorter than me..lol! He told me with the extent of bone loss, I have no choice, that they have to go, before I have nothing to put the dentures on...Ugh. I also have to go 4 months toothless (: At least he is kind enough to help out and let me make payments on the dentures. Those things gave me a heart attack!! $1400!!! Oh well, I have time to save up what I can, and then we will see what we need to get additional.

This is turning into one long journal for me!! If you are still reading this, bless you!! I hope everyone has been well, and doing good on your weight loss journeys. I haven't read back through everyones journals, and will try to catch up.

Take care everyone!!
