This seemed like a very slow week.....the days and the scale. But both have come and gone. 2 lbs down. I didn't think I'd lost much this month but when I added it up, it's been 12 lbs this month. June and July were both 10.6 lbs down. 33.2 lbs so far.

I need to get more fruit. I'm going to miss the fresh strawberries and blueberries this winter. And the cantaloupes......love those with cottage cheese. Hubby and I went out to lunch today at Olive Garden. I looked at the menu ahead of time and didn't change my mind once I got there. We both got the "All you can eat pasta bowl". I got a second serving but brought it home and will eat it tomorrow. I would have preferred shrimp but it all had waaay too much sodium. There was much less in the pasta.

I've been working around the house this week, organizing and throwing things out. It felt good to move and also to see that I was accomplishing things. I hope to keep it up.

I haven't been on again....though I AM keeping at it. I just can't seem to get here as often as I'd like. I lost 1.2 lbs this week. Seems like I always have one week that I do a smaller loss, followed by a bigger one. Well, it doesn't matter either way, big or small, as long as it's going in the right direction. I had zucchini several times this week. I love cooking it with onions, green and red peppers, and tomatoes with some Italian seasonings, spaghetti sauce and then adding a little mozzarella cheese and just a teaspoon of parmesan cheese....so good. Fresh zucchini is one of my favorites. Tonight we're having chicken, fresh green beans, and rice. I haven't cooked much for my hubby this week (well, we had taco salad twice - his favorite), and a friend gave us the green beans from her garden yesterday. I don't want to waste them.

We're headed out on vacation next month and I've been planning things in my head so I can keep on track. Luckily, it's at a timeshare my in-laws have so it won't cost us anything to stay. And there's a full kitchen so I can do a little of my own cooking. I've also had "the talk" with my hubby....lol. I know we'll be eating out often, but I told him he has to go along with me on where we eat sometimes. It can't be Taco Bell all the time....(again, his favorite). ;) We'll be going shopping for groceries once we get there so I will have plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese, and a few things to cook that won't take me away from my good eating. I don't look to lose while we're gone, but I don't want to gain either. I just want to stay on track as much as possible. Hope everyone is having a great week. Keep at it! Dee

As of today, I have lost exactly 30 lbs! I'm no longer in the 60's. I started out June 8th at 287.2 and am now 257.2. 20 lbs to first goal of 50 lost and 70 lbs to total goal. It won't happen till next year but I'm thrilled at just the 30. I know I'll get there. I didn't get as much exercise in as I would have liked and that's why the scales were playing with the same half pound all week. Yesterday I cleaned the church and went shopping so I did a lot of walking, so the scales moved today. I need to keep moving. I went to Target, Michael's, and Office Max - all three stores next to each other - and walked to each one. Usually I go the lazy way and drive from the first to the third. ;) It's been much easier to do the walking lately. My best friend has seen how well I'm doing and has decided to join in with me. She's watching what she's eating and asked me to write out what I'm doing...foods, etc. She needs a new set of scales so she's not sure how much she weighs, but she says she has more energy and isn't feeling as sluggish. She's excited. And it's great that we can do this together. She's in a lot of pain and has seen how much better I can move around. A few months ago, cleaning the church was hard to do. I'd have to sit every ten mins or so. Now I can do almost all of it and not have to sit. It's terrific. She wants to be able to do that, too. Sorry I'm going on....I'm just excited. ;) Dee
