I'm a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. And in case you live under a rock and haven't heard ;) , we're in the playoffs! Coach Clint Hurdle is a big reason the team is where it's at. He supports his team and sends them daily emails to give them encouragement. Here is one of his emails. I think it works for all of us fighting this weight loss battle, too:

"I wish I had a dollar for every time someone said we'd never win," Hurdle says.

How many people have told you you'll never lose weight? How many times have you started a diet only to quit when it got too hard? If you don't try, you'll never get there. It WILL work if you don't quit. I'm not saying this because I'm perfect. I've lost and gained so many times. This time is different. This time I'm not stopping. This time I'm not quitting. This time I'm not giving up!!! I'll make it to first place!!!!! Dee

I guess I did better than I thought this week. I've been following well until the taco salad the other night....still, I lost 2 lbs this week. Not so good for the month, but it's headed the right way. And it doesn't matter how long it takes me.....I'm still going to get healthy. I'll be seeing the doctor next month and I think she'll be very happy with my losing 35 lbs plus. I'm hoping my blood pressure is down, too. I really want to get off the meds. I'm making chili for supper tonight. I've been hungry for it. We haven't had it since this past winter. The weather is getting cooler here and I'm just in the mood for it. Hubby bought lean ground meat and no salt added tomatoes and tomato sauce so I won't have to worry about the sodium in it. I make a big pot of it so there will be plenty of leftovers. It's always better the second time around. I finally got to the grocery store yesterday after cleaning the church and got a cantaloupe, cottage cheese, skim milk, regular and greek yogurt, fat free mayo, lettuce, onions, English muffins and eggs. Oh, and fat free ice cream. I'm set for the week. Take care all! Dee
