Turkey Meatloaf

Moist and flavorful meatloaf.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix seasoning with the ground meat.
  2. Form into a loaf; it should feel firm enough to hold together.
  3. Spray a loaf pan with butter flavored cooking spray.
  4. Add the meat loaf and sprinkle with additional garlic and pepper.
  5. Cover pan with foil and place in a 350 °F (175 °C) oven for 20 minutes.
  6. Check meat, uncover and cook to 160 °F (70 °C).
  7. Allow to cool slightly then slice half inch slices.
  8. Note: four slices are good for dinner, the rest for lunch another day.

A little heavy on the pepper. I added basil and onion. This recipe is easily modified to suit your taste.

I added some bbq sauce for flavor and chopped onions for texture. The first time I made meatloaf without bread crumbs and egg and it turned out very well.

We thought it was horrible as well. Too spicy and I like spicy. I like the idea of the egg or bacon. May be willing to give it another shot.

It was horrible, unless the amounts are wrong cause it was too strong with the pepper?

This recipe has possibilities for endless variations. Wrap the loaf before baking, with strips of turkey bacon, or add a couple boiled(and cooled and peeled) eggs to the ground meat and season with sage and celery salt. Sprinkle with paprika and crushed rosemary before baking. Or add green olives to the ground meat with oregano and garlic and shape, bake, allow to cool, and slice into luncheon meat.
