Lately, it's been hard to get up...been feeling sore a lot lately. Starting to revert back to old ways. Haven't been updating my gratitude journal. I think I'll jump back into this and I'm sure the energy will come back to my routine.

Weight loss has been really sluggish so I'm starting a 10-day restrictive diet called "Mary's Mini". It's based on the principles of Dr. McDougall. "Mary" is his wife. Anyhow, it's meant to make the low-fat vegan diet that Dr. McDougall advocates easier and speed up weight loss for a short time. Basically, you pick a starch or whole grain and then eat only that with lots of veggies and some fruit. I picked potatoes as my starch and got a lot of frozen bags of spinach and broccoli. I also got Bragg's, Spike, salsa, and hot sauce to season my meals. So far so good...had a smoothie this morning and hash browns with nutritional yeast and hot sauce. I like its simplicity since during the week I don't get a lot of time to cook so having things that I can prepare in bulk gets me through the week easier. Hopefully, I'll have some good results to report next week!

Slept in today. My new yoga routine is very challenging and I was feeling it yesterday and today. So I figured I give my body a rest day but still plan to do my afternoon walk. Still doing the 100-push-up challenge. I'll be finishing Week 2 tomorrow. I'm curious to see how many I'll be able to do this weekend. I definitely feel the difference when I work out so my push-up number should be higher.
As for food, I've been ok. I'm short on funds until tomorrow and then I'll be able to replenish my refrigerator with lots of produce. I've been eating salads but that can get boring. My blender broke so haven't been able to make smoothies in the morning. I'm hoping to get the replacement part soon...I love having that energy from fruit in the morning!

Went a little crazy with some binging this weekend. It started last Friday with some garlic bread, then pie, then cake on Saturday. I had way too much sugar in the past couple of days but I'm making up for it now. I definitely did not like how it made me feel. I was ok with the dairy but I still think it's better I refrain from it.

Jumped up a little bit but ok with it. I'm happy it's not a lot more after binging during the 4th of July holiday. I actually like my diet and exercise plan right now. I'm not rigorously exercising but I continue to do yoga almost daily, walk, and doing the 100 push-up challenge (kicks butt). I look forward to getting up early and exercising and I know it's working because my arms, shoulders, butt, and hips are sore! As for eating, sticking with a plant-based diet is the way to go and I love that I get to eat a lot!
