Struggled some this past week or two. Thought I'd moved beyond cravings for sweets and compulsive eating; but I saw pretty clearly that I'm still vulnerable to both. There are occasions when the foods available aren't legitimate choices from the standpoint of the diet; and this week helped my realize how important it is that I still make wise choices regarding which foods I choose to eat, and how much of them I eat. I found my tendency was to think, "Well, this is going to blow my diet today!" and so throw out the rules entirely for that meal and indulge myself. Then I found I was thinking, "Well, it's going to blow my diet for today." and then throw out the rules for the wholeday. I also added back in some nuts to my diet, only to find myself becoming compulsive about them. So I removed them from my diet, and I'll have to think some more about how to add back things I especially like in a way that I can maintain balance and moderation with them. Still, I'm happy with the progress so far. I really got serious about the diet at the beginning of March, so I've averaged about 10lbs/month. That feels like very worthwhile.
