Wow, I didn't realize I've been away so long. Work has been very busy and I don't have a computer at home.
The point is to be honest with myself right? Well, I got way off track. I got on the scale and I'm up 3 pounds. I did what I always do, I lose some weight, feel better and then I "cheat" way too much. Also, socializing leads to snacking and a cocktail (or two).
I had horrible, horrible indegestion this weekend. My body was telling me that it didn't like what I was eating/drinking. So, today, I'm back on track and will call this Phase I, Part 2. I believe by the end of the weekend I can go to Phase 2. I can't wait to get outside to exercise today (it's been beautiful weather in Georgia).
I feel bad because I motivated so many people to try FS. I'm not being a good example. But hey, it's all about getting back on the horse right?
Take care everyone.

Gaining 0.7 kg a Week

I got way off track this past weekend. But, I'm no beating myself up about it. I did better than I normally would have, if I wasn't on FS.
I decided to NOT step on the scale (I know me, I'll get discouraged) and will do Phase I this week and next Monday (April 27th) work my way up to Phase II.
Happy Monday everyone and KEEP SMASHING!

Today is Day 9/Phase 1. I feel great and... "drumroll please" I have lost 9 pounds. I am so excited and proud of myself for sticking to the diet 99% (I have to admit to a having a handful of almonds one day).
I worked out 5 days (in a 7 day period) and the times ranged from 30 minutes to 1 hour (okay, just 1 day was an hour...LOL). My exercise of choice is power walking (I prefer to walk outside if I can but I also have a treadmill). I took the advice of one of our FS family members and I started interval training. So, I walk some and then run as fast as I can (which is not very fast..LOL) and then walk. I alternate that. I eventually got up to running more than walking. On the treadmill I make sure I do various levels of speed and inclines. I am also doing some abs work (need that). I haven't measured the old waistline yet to see how many inches I have lost.
I don't know about anyone else who moved to Phase II but I find Phase I very comfortable. I'm almost "afraid" to go to Phase II. But, I know this is not about a diet but a lifestyle change so I have to be able to still loose, even on other phases (kick up the exercises right). Starting tomorrow I will start to introduce fish and chicken in to my diet but will keep with the fruits and veggies. Did I tell you that I MISS french fries?
The Detox phase has shown me that I can do without the red meat. I grew rather fond of tofu and I LOVE beans so I think I'll be okay with getting the nutrients my body will miss from the red meat. To make sure I'm adding in a multivitamin.
Thanks everyone for your encouragement, ideas, recipes and tips. They really are helpful and I know it's what helped me to make it through Phase I.
Phase II...here I come. Keep SMASHING!!!

Losing 4.0 kg a Week
13 April 2009
I am on Day 8/Phase 1 and so far, so good. My usual challenge is the weekends but not this time. I prepared myself with snacks (while I ran errands)and I resisted the temptation to eat more than what I should on Easter. I made sure I didn't go to my friends house hungry.
I kicked butt with exercising! I did a walk/run/sprint kind of thing for an hour. Instead of feeling tired, I felt energized. I did "cheat" and stepped on the scale last week and was down 3.8 pounds. I'm going to stay in Phase 1 until Wednesday which will be 10 days. I'll weigh myself on Thursday morning.
I'm a little anxious about Phase II. I think I'll gradually add in the fish and chicken (skinless of course) but plan to still eat a lot of fruit, veggies and beans.
This diet is aweseome. It's more of a lifestyle change than a diet. It's all about getting healthy.
Happy Monday!
