Our gym date night was a blast! Hubby is sure impressed with the new fitness level that I can maintain. We had a lot of fun trying to outdo the other with pull-ups, push-ups, burpees, etc. He's a hoot!
Followed up our hour at the gym with a nice dinner at one of our favorite local haunts. I can't say we made the best food choices, but when you get out as infrequently as we do, we enjoyed the food. We have a great cajun restaurant and we both enjoyed a Bloody Mary, some grit cakes, and I had the shrimp creole (and yeah...don't look for me to log any of this - LOL). I'm sure my sodium levels were through the roof yesterday, but it's just one day.

Hubbie and I have an opportunity to get out for a date tonight. But when we couldn't find any good movies playing and the weather is too yuck to go adventuring, we've opted for a date night at the gym and then out to dinner. We both agreed there was NO WAY our attitudes would improve if we "sat around" on our night out.

Hi All!
Work is finally settling down and I'm able to get back to a routine that includes lunch hour workouts again! Woo-who! I spent too many days last month working through lunches...hopefully those days are behind me for a while now that my office is fully staffed - FINALLY!
I managed well on my days away from FS. I've got a pretty good idea of my intake even on days that I don't log food...that's another nice thing about having a well established habit for what to pack in a lunch, for snacks, etc.
First Friday of the month (April) I did my "benchmark" challenge of max. deadhang pull-ups and 100 full-burpees for time again. I sort of flatlined from the month prior...but that was to be expected as I didn't get to the gym as much as I'd have liked for the month of March. My progress is as follows:
Max Deadhang Pull-Ups: Jan - 6; Feb - 8; Mar - 7; Apr - 7
100 Burpees (for time): Jan - 11:26; Feb - 10:57; Mar - 9:48; Apr - 9:57
Considering that a year ago I could barely do one pull up...I consider these results very promising :-)
Transitioning to the new position is going OK. It's been a challenge, but I'm still doing fine.
Kids are great and are off to my parents for spring break. I'm SO not used to having it so quiet around the house!
Thanks to some of your responses to my stressful posts in the past, my husband and I have started having lunch out to eat together every other week. It is SO NICE to go out on these little "dates" with him. Nice to know that we can still get along even when the kids aren't around :-)
So as the routine settles back in, I hope to catch up with you all in the days to come.
