Today is our holiday party at work. I brought in some Grand Marnier balls and a spaghetti squash/sausage casserole. Going to try to stick with meats and veggies, stay away from carb laden things. My weight has been pretty steady, no losses going on but no gains. If I can just maintain that through the holidays I'll be happy. But will try to cut back more severely after today in preparation for Christmas weekend when we'll be travelling to NY making the rounds.
My food diary indicates I should be in a calorie deficit but I have not been weighing and measuring a lot of it so portions are probably larger than I've been eyeballing. According to my fitbit yesterday's calorie burn was over 4,400. Pretty cool, I never stopped until I hit the bed around 11:30. Got my wife's main Christmas present yesterday so the pressure is off!
Weight up a pound this morning due to taste testing the Grand Marnier balls, and having a glass of it. Which led to sampling a couple other treats. 'Twas a necessary evil, or so it seemed at the time. Diet tip - don't drink while goodies are around. :)

Yesterday was my first real running in a while, did about 3 miles on a concrete surface. Due to an injury to my achilles tendon I've been mostly walking. The heel held up pretty good, legs are slightly sore, probably from the hard surface. But feels good to get the heart rate up to peak, it's been some time since I pushed myself that hard.
Non diet or health related - got a notice yesterday that Comcast is raising prices again, so I'm seriously investigating either cutting cable TV completely or reducing services to basic limited services, which would be mainly local broadcast stations. Trying Sling TV out for 7 days free to check it out. I live in a mountainous area 45 to 50 miles from Wash. DC stations so I'm not sure if I can get adequate antenna reception, but I might try out one of the better quality outdoor extreme range antennas from Amazon. I can always return it if it doesn't work. Depending on what we end up doing savings would be $40 to $60 per month, that would be nice.

Been doing some thinking and also talking with my wife. My plan had been to stick with a version of LCHF up to Christmas. However, the plan that got me to goal weight and improved my health was targeting macros and calories. The key in avoiding the holiday temptations is sticking to a plan, regardless of what the plan is. I feel my healthiest and best doing targeted macros and calories. So I'm going back to what has worked for me and what I can stick with long term, which is also what I believe is my healthiest option too.

207.4 lbs. I did pretty well on low carbs this week, not a strict LCHF, but enough carb restriction to do what I need it to do. Which is cut out all the extra stuff I'd been allowing myself, and avoid the holiday temptations. Really not much temptation yet but it'll increase as we get more into December. Not a problem as long as long as I stick to the low carb.

Losing 3.0 kg a Week
30 November 2016
210.4 lbs, actually Monday's post-Thanksgiving holiday weight. I have not done well keeping on plan for some time as evident from my weight chart the past few months and it is way past time to be serious again.
Navigating from now to Christmas is like walking through a mine field, traps and temptations galore. Past years I've done well going to LCHF during this period and had good success losing weight and avoiding the temptations, so this is the plan. It's not something I can stick to long term, tried it and failed many times, but I can do it for a few weeks. Today is the start.
