Never expected that

For a while now I've been drinking hot water with lemon or lime juice - and sometimes inulin powder and a cup of strong black coffee. Since reading the Good sugar/Bad Sugar book by Allen Carr I've not wanted any coffee - or biscuits, sweets or chocolates. Apart from some smoked fish I've been living on nuts, veg & fruit. For a pure carnivore that's a definite change.

Happy with that. The 22 hour fasts seem to be working

As per gaelicgirl's recommendation I'm reading Allen Carr's 'Good Sugar, Bad Sugar'
I just want to quote 2 sentences from the same area (as much for my own recall as anything):
The largest of all land mammals is the elephant. It must consume some protein and calcium to grow to that size and sport such magnificent tusks, right? But the elephant doesn't eat meat, nor does it eat dairy.
Think about strong, muscular, powerful, fast animals: lions, tigers, jaguars, cheetahs, bulls, wolves, bears, rhinos and so on. They all have one thing in common; they don't drink milk beyond infancy and they don't eat BAD SUGAR.
How do you think these supreme beasts would look and behave if they were fed bowls of pasta, rice or fed plates of pizza, or troughs of fried or roast potatoes, sweets and chocolate? Do you think it would make them slow, sick and susceptible to illness?
It all makes sense to me.

I've settled on 20 - 22 hour fasts at the moment. Seems easier, though I don't know why. I'm giving the chia seeds a miss today and hoping for the best.
In 2005 I had a gangrenous gall-bladder removed. I'd had a couple of scans between 7 & 10 years earlier and they'd found nothing wrong. That is the story of my life - I have lots of symptoms for things, but when tested I come up negative. I was told that I had all the symptoms of PCOS and the doctor was pretty certain I'd got it until the test results, Lupus - the same, thyroid - it came down to a radioactive injection - eventhough you can see the goitre. In the end it was decided that I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome - that way they can say that any symptom is part of it. I've always had several joints - thumbs, shoulders especially - that dislocate if I'm not careful, double joints that bend the wrong way. Kneecap removed when I was 22 for the arthritis that I didn't have - the surgeon said he could see it and did it anyway.
This all seems to come back to the TB I had as a 3-5 year old - or rather the medication they gave me for it - but hey I survived. My mum was told that if I hadn't just had the measles then I more than likely wouldn't have got TB as about 7 other children & half a dozen or so adults all drank the same milk as I did.
But I'm still here - I'd say still standing - but I'm sitting so it doesn't work. For all of the above I feel that I'm a lucky person. I've been married twice to 2 exceptionally nice guys - the first one was just too much under my thumb - I wasn't good for him. I live in a nice place, have a good family around me - and my cat.
Have a good day everyone - remember You Are Magnificent.
