I've just been watching a Ted Naiman video on dietdoctor.com about protein intake. He says that if you are obese, unfit, diabetic type 2 or older then you need more protein. Lean, thin, young people are okay with 15% protein but the others, as above, need 30%. He says up to 1 gram protein to 1lb body weight - not lean weight - the nearer to that the better - as long as carbs are kept very low. His favourite foods are steak and eggs as they have equal protein to fat - which in terms of clories gives a 2:1 fat:protein.
Something for me to think about.
I've also been told that as a 63 year old - pushing 64 I should try to consolidate my weight at about 75 kilos - using 24-48 hour fasting for autophagy.

I've been trying to reset my goal weight. I may push to go lower in the future, but health wise I need to be doing 24 - 48 hour fasts - which I know I'll not lose weight on - or not much - and consolidate for a while

I've decided that a fibromyalgia flare up and fasting just don't go together. So I'm eating until it calms down - it gets me down and I have to watch that I don't get depressed, but I am eating the 'right' stuff.

Oh dear - I'm about to break my fast. I didn't manage the 5.5 days - but I've done 69.5 hours - 2.5 hours off 3 days. I've not been exercising my fasting muscle much recently so it'll do. I'll eat now and then back to it afterwards.

The fast is going well - as is the extra exercise of having to come downstairs in the night to use a loo, lol. I've decided that while I'm fasting I'll not be opening pictures of people's food.
