Well it's midday and I'm just under 1000kCal with no hunger, oatmeal for breakfast and tuna for lunch, can't go wrong with either of those. Looking forward to the evening dram of scotch.
I'm 2/3 the way through 'Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity, and Disease' by Pediatric Endocrinologist Dr. Robert Lustig. Excellent, excellent book, even if you are familiar with his famous youtubes you'll still get a lot of great information.
His focus regarding health is to focus on visceral fat vs subcutaneous fat, which is the issue of belly measurements, which I'm now a big advocate of as the best way to measure health improvements.
Picked up a new laptop today, ciao!

Gaining 0.3 kg a Week
19 January 2013
My belly measurement came in at 43", which is one inch in the last week. I'm still very pleased to be done with the scale. I've been weight lifting and adding on muscle. I doubt the scale would show I had lost anything. So I've eliminated what previously had been a big source of discouragement. If I lifted weights I'd get discouraged because my weight would go up. And if I only did cardio, I'd lose a bunch of weight but after 3 months I'd then be discouraged with how the muscle loss made me look.
My metabolism has been running great, I have been enjoying my super foods smoothies. It's exciting to make progress even without tracking everything. I put my effort into eating better foods for health while retaining eating for pleasure.
I do admit that I need to be mindful of sugar, I don't want to do anything extreme but I also have to be mindful of it. Try to make progress while not getting obsessed.
Happy weekend all!
