Have I ever talked about our pup?

Angelbear Slobberchops Puddinhead is her name, although we shorten it to Angel or Slobberchops depending on what mood she's in. She turned 9 on April 1st.

So Angel has what we call "pupilepsy". She has seizures which necessitate regular medication (she gets pheno, valium and K-bro - seriously, she gets better drugs than I do!) and sometimes she has little "accidents" (She sleeps with us. Or, more accurately, we bought her a tempur pedic .. sorry, PUPPYpedic ... bed, and she allows us to sleep with her on the bed).

She also has a habit of trying to eat anything vaguely food-like. Take last night, for example. I had some bread and a whole stick of butter sitting out on the stove on a metal tray. I went into the living room, onto the treadmill and started my walking.

Fast forward 20 minutes ...

There's a godawful clatter and I immediately jump off the treadmill after using the emergency key to turn the damn thing off and rush to see our little darling looking up at me with that "What? I didn't do nuthin'!".

Then I see the tray.

On the floor.

Minus 2 slices of bread, and minus the stick of butter.

Mummy glares, and puts what's left back out of puppy reach. Puppy looks guilty as heck and goes to sleep on the sofa.

The point of this?

This is why she's on a boiled chicken-and-rice diet for 3 days to ward off pancreatitis. We've been here before and good Lord, boiled chicken is possibly the least appetising foodstuff I've encountered in a loooong time and this is coming from a girl who has no problem eating tripe, pig trotter, cow tongue and all manner of internal organs (of animals .. not humans. Just sayin').

So there we go.

Yum!

Oh - this is our Angelbear. I forgot to mention the toothbrushes ... hence the caption ;)

Guilty!

Holy crap-maggots. My husband never gets colds (his superior immune system is one of the reasons I fell in love with him. Okay, that's totally not true. We fell in love after meeting in a Widows' support bulletin board - that's completely true), but instead brings the germies home so they may jump ship and land in barren wasteland that is my immune system.

(Somebody had her whiny wheaties this morning, didn't she? Yes, yes she did!)

I feel like ten tonnes of soylent green left to fester in Satan's armpit.

Going back to bed. Treadmill, I love you, but we need some time apart. Food, I love you too ... but looks like chicken-soup-and-chocolate (not in the same bowl, I hasten to add) will be what I'm nomming today.

Germ-free hugs to you all.

(There are masks, latex-free gloves and hand sanitizer on the washing machine when you come through the back door, if you need 'em).

This is what we're having tonight. I'm playing with almond and coconut flour though.
