What diet trends has everyone done/is doing? & how did it work out for you?

I’m new at this, but for the first couple of weeks I just cut portion size and lost 5lb. Decided to try this app and count calories(1200-1400) and lost another 5. Then I stopped losing and started gaining! I noticed I was below 1200 a lot of days so I upped it to 1200-1900 and I lost another pound. I’m lazy lol. Have three kids, one of which is in track, basketball, 2 archery teams, 4H and soon to be volleyball and another in GATE and basketball and the 3rd is 3. I run them everywhere all the time so I’m bad about working out. I try to get in 3k steps a day, 2-3 times a week on the elliptical 20-60 minutes each, work with 3lb weights twice a week and try to walk twice a week (2.7 miles to the highway and back). Most weeks I’m lucky for one walk & 1 of each of the others.

I’m not big on the diet fads so I’m making up mine as I go based on my results and the time I can fit in ;).

Eating ‘healthier’ more fruit and veg, less junk and more exercising, seems to be working. I have been trying 16/8 fasting, but can’t really see the difference with that
