I turned 49 two weeks ago and realized that in the past decade I have gained 30 pounds, all sorts of pain, hopelessness and cynicism. So I figure I have one year to role into 50 feeling a whole lot better than I have for the past several years. I stopped drinking alcohol in January. I cut sugar out of my coffee and cut coffee consumption in half. I have started going to the gym-not consistenly yet. And have significantly improved my diet. I'm married with 4 kids and work full time. I've been having more and more joint and general pain over the years, am working with a doctor and hoping dietary changes will help. I'm really struggling with getting the right balance of protein, fiber, etc...im trying a Mediterranean style diet right now. It seems like a good basis to start from.
