ShyGuy's Journal, 27 Feb 12

For unknown reasons, I've been experiencing a loss of appetite, these past few days. So, I find myself in the unusual position of having to force myself to eat enough, so that my body won't go into starvation mode, slowing my metabolic processes, to the point of no weight loss. I've never had to force myself to eat before. My RDI is 3100 calories, but these past few days I've been lucky to consume 2000. I want to lose the weight, but I also want to fuel my body enough for daily functioning. I hope this passes quickly. :-(

I don't know if I've ever had a loss of appetite longer than a day or two unless I'm sick. I hope that it does pass quickly so that you don't fall into starvation.

Part of this whole process is, in part, to learn to listen to our bodies. Perhaps you're body is learning how to better access your fat stores and suppressing your hunger signals. It's hard trying to figure out the minutia.

For me this started on Saturday, so I spent the whole day sleeping, only getting up to run to the bathroom, and to take the dog out to relieve himself. It's hard to go out, in the cold, when you aren't feeling at your best. My appetite is starting to return today, but it's still far from normal. Thanks for your responses.

Hope you're feeling better this evening. Its tough to force yourself to eat when the hunger isn't there. My dr chastised me on friday for waiting to eat till I'm hungry and said to make myself eat something every 2 hours regardless. A handful of nuts, a string cheese, something to keep digestion going. Keep your chin up buddy!

Well, I still don't feel as if my appetite has returned, 100%, but, I did make a low carb pizza, last night, for dinner, and hope to make another one today. Sounds like your dr is a wise man, or woman, which ever the case may be. :-)

:-) It's baaack! LOL I don't know if that's a good thing, or a bad thing, but I'm still being very guarded about staying within my 30-40 net carbs, self imposed, limit, and 3100 calorie RDI. I want to keep this train rolling towards Onederland, no matter how far off in the distance it may be. And yes, I'm feeling better, with energy to spare, depending on the time of day you ask me. :-)
