PLATEAU. From March 26th to April 8th, my weight stayed stable between 237.5-239 pounds. 13 days. Finally, yesterday it broke: 236.4 lbs. I was excited but waited till today to confirm the trend. Today weighed in at 236.0 lbs! Today, I'm writing it down. There is something very important about these plateaus. They must be metabolic states where the body is comfortable. Like electrons in an atom: when you add or subtract energy from an atom, the electrons move further out or closer in, but not smoothly. They have very specific orbits where they are stable, and they will jump from one to the next, then again, fight to stay there until the energy change is again sufficient to make them jump again. So, I've learned I have a stable weight at 238 pounds. It would be easy and natural for me to "maintain" at that weight. Hopefully, that's knowledge I won't need again. But I think at the next plateau, wherever it turns out to be, I will pause there for awhile, to allow my body to relax at a place where it feels comfortable. I really, REALLY want that to be somewhere in the 220s, though. Fingers crossed. And, prayers to all.
