Another thing I have observed since reducing my carbs and stopping the Statins, is that my mind is a bit sharper. I take part in a research project that King's College, London is carrying out into Alzheimer's. It involves a daily "Brain training" exercise, and since the regime change my scores have been noticeably better.

Read up on side effects ant the chemical action of statins, they really should come with a health warning, like cigarettes

Good Job Jocko.
I wish my weight would come off like that. I am sticking well with my RDI of 1300cals a day and have dropped from 170lbs to 145lbs but these last 5lbs just refuse to budge.

Hello Jocko
You must be thrilled to bits, a Whopping 5st Loss that's absolutely Brill..... I think what you've done, a little tweaking here and there with Meds and Diet have certainly done the trick for you.....Are you still doing the 16-8 Diet?.....when my weight starts to plateau I will have to do something similar to get my metabolism moving again.....Your a great inspiration..... Well Done.....

Yes. The 16:8 is a doddle. I find that since I replaced Carbs with Fat and Protein (keeping to the same RDI), I feel a lot fuller. I have reduced my RDI from 1800 to 1750, as of today.
I have one advantage though. Normally, when you restrict your calorie intake, your body tells your Thyroid to reduce the production of Thyroxine, which turns down your metabolism. my Thyroid doesn't work so I take Thyroxine tablets. The only one who can turn down my metabolism is my GP!

Well done jockoT, that is so fantastic, for every pound of weight you lose, you take 4 pounds of weight off of your knees (my dr told me that so it's accurate), so that's a staggering 280 pounds in total!!! Fan bloody tastic, well done you :-) x
|
You should put up a before and after picture jockoT to show the world how well you have done :-) xx
|
Well done to you, all your hard work is paying off..so pleased for you. X X X
