Day 4…. Have been a little overwhelmed by looking at all the details… how much protein, carbs … etc. I decided to just stick to the calories for about 2 weeks and then start looking at the types of calories… would love some advice on how to monitor that and also a guideline as to the amounts I should be looking at. Lost a few pounds since the start so feeling encouraged to stick with it!

I would suggest using some marco calculators that are out there as you can input your goals, excercise, etc. A lot of them will let you adjust to what you feel you can do. It can be overwhelming and I know there are some videos of people trying to help beginners. I had a trainer with strength training 3x a week and he kept it very simple and did not introduce me to macros until I got close to my goal. He had me eat my goal weight in protein or close so for me it was 120 grams of protein a day - 4 meals. With every meal I had one serving of fat and 1-2 servings of a green vegetable or a fruit. It was very easy to follow to get me started. You will find a lot of advice out here and you will need to do what works for you and any health issues you may have. Good luck as you already are losing weight!

Wow! Thanks for the advice… it is super helpful… I will start doing some research… once I get used to the calories, I will start making some macro changes. I also need to get regular with exercise… besides helping with the weight, i am hoping it will help me reduce my stress and sleep better.
