I started 2022 at 223 pounds. at that point, I was already on the journey of healthier choices and a more active lifestyle. I'm down just over 54 pounds in 2022 and 79 pounds since August 2021. In 2022, I prepped for and ran my fist ever half marathon. I've signed up for another in May 2023. My biggest obstacle to continuing training has been the cold. I'm not a good 'dreadmill' runner, I'm good for a mile or two and then start to feel my mind go numb. I am pretty darn slow...I finished my first half in just under 4 hours...I want to get that down to 3:30, so there's my motivation for the treadmill...to work on winnowing down my time.
And finally, in 2022 I added karate to the mix in the fall...because I knew I needed to do some cross-training to focus on core strength and balance.
Here's to 2023 and everyone's journey...and being a pretty freaking awesome work in progress along the way.
