TGIF… and really feeling it! I had a small victory last night on my journey to eat mindfully & healthfully gluten, lactose & sugar aware, and I'm feeling especially good about it, even on little sleep (more on that later). I found myself home alone in the evening (a trigger time for me) as DH gets back from Japan this afternoon, younger DS had left to go to the Cape with GF & her family, and older DS went out with the guys. So, I had a nice, healthy dinner, finished with my berries & tea, and went right up to my bedroom (even though it was only 7:30) and got into my pi's and rented a movie. I watched Labor Day which was good enough to keep my attention, and went right to bed after. So, for my new count -- Ruhu 1, Evening Overeating 0! Let the games begin… or continue! And bring on the weekend!
Sleep -- night before last, my Mom's compromised mental state got the best of her again & she called at 4:30 am thinking it was pm!; then last night, DH from whatever time zone Japan is in, texted at 11:30 pm to ask me to make him a haircut appt on Sat -- WTF? Then, I woke again at 2;30 & could not fall back asleep after. So, today's agenda, after my 8:45 spin class, includes rest and a nap(s) when needed in addition to the month-end book work thats piled up. The weather forecast for today, and tomorrow & Sunday afternoons sounds dismal, so book work it will be. DH & I are playing tennis outside tomo morning if the weather holds.
But now, though, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And, through this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm so, so grateful for each of amazing you, my family & IRL friends, starting to build a new healthy habit for evenings home alone, looking forward to the weekend opportunity ahead and having the health & wealth to live this life I love (which included a wonderful facial yesterday)! xoxox
