My weight is just teter-totering back and forth but won't go under 180. I could SCREAM!!!!

As you can see, whenever I eat my 12-15 foundation vegetables, my weight immediately goes UP! The only time I lost weight was the first two weeks and that was water weight. I don't lose weight unless I practically starve myself! I desperately want to get under 180 but my body is resisting, it's fighting weight loss and just won't budge!

If things don't change soon, I'm not EVER going to try dieting again!!! At my age, I think mother nature is trying to tell me this is the weight I should be at. So, as a word of advice to all you younger people out there; if you're overweight, lose it while you're young and still have a metabolism and try to keep it off as long as you can because when you're over 50 or older, you can't lose the weight like you did when you were younger. It's tough enough trying to lose weight when you're younger, but it's 3 times as hard to lose it when you're older and no longer have a metabolism. Take it from one who has been trying desperately at the age of 74 to lose the 40 or 50 pounds that I've put on since I last lost the weight on Weight Watcher's when I was in my 40's. I'm now saying to myself that I have to accept the weight I'm at (no matter what my doctor wants me to do) and eat, drink, be happy and enjoy what's left of my life.

I'm sorry that your weight is fluctuating and you're not getting past a certain point yet. But don't give up, because you might gain some more ground; it's just not happening right now. Hang in there and continue doing what you're doing and eventually you'll see improvement. At worse, you'll stay the same weight. But if you stop dieting, you will gain weight, not stay where you are. In order to stay where you are, you'll have to continue watching your calories. Try to be as active as possible, even if it's just walking around your home. And don't weigh yourself often - once a month is enough. Weighing often is what is discouraging you and causing you to want to give up. Don't give up.

Have you thought about going back to Weight Watchers? It might be exactly what you need to help you over the hump. The support is wonderful and the program (there's the traditional Points system and also Simple Start) is just what I need. I'm here for additional support and calorie counting. It's also about getting healthy too, in addition to what the scales say.
