Time to face the music -- couldn't avoid that damn scale or "weigh in now" reminder any longer. It's just a number after all… not one of my favorites, but given my eating for the last 2 weekends, I shouldn't be too surprised or disappointed. And, I won't let it impact my determination going forward, starting today, one weekend, one weekend day, one weekend meal, one weekend moment, one weekend bite or one weekend emotion at a time. Speaking of scales, did I tell you about the one they had on the retreat -- instead on having numbers of lbs we weighed, it had adjectives describing us, like gorgeous, beautiful, lovely, etc. It was one scale I wanted to get on!
This morning I have tennis then a mani/pedi this afternoon, so life is good! And, dinner out tonight with 3 girlfriends who are/were the wives of DH's college friends. One is now divorced, so we get together, just the girls, once or twice a year. The older I get, the more I recognize IRL friends that I really like to spend time with & those not so much. Well, these are 3 keepers… although between you & me, one is a little over bearing, but it will be a fun night!
But, before I begin my day, I'll pray --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And for this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll keep praying, breathing, logging, journaling & expressing my way. I'm grateful as always for each of spectacular you, my family & IRL friends (especially those I'll see tonight), another bit of warmer temps & some sunshine in the northeast, and having the good health (to play tennis) and enough wealth (for mani/pedis) to live this life I love! xoxox
