I am sorry to hear that. Are there ways to support yourself? Can you call a friend? Should you be seeing a doctor or a counsellor?

If your loneliness is related to the shutdown and self isolation and it is affecting your mental health, it is time to consider getting out into the fresh air. Meet a friend at a walk friendly park or outdoor space, wear your mask, share a packed lunch, talk about something besides politics and Covid. This is not over and won’t be for a long time. I prefer now to call this physical distancing rather than social distancing. Mental health is becoming a crisis.

Kenna is right, we need to get out and just follow guidelines and be with people! We are here to listen all the time! Take care!

Along the same theme for this thread, consider that winter is around the corner. Now is the time to think of hobbies— even if you are not an arts|craft person. Think of something that you can involve your kids in. Many years ago I was going out on medical leave for six months so I started making paper mache bowls to put Christmas treats in for the upcoming Holliday. Cheap (newspaper and StaFlow starch from Walmart), gift wrap paper purchased on clearance. It was really fun and I still do it a lot. I had a young friend who was 8 years old— I was mentoring both she and her mom on their weight loss journeys- I used to pick her up at school once in a while and we would do this craft. She loved it and so did her best friend.. I also taught them to make the most beautiful jewelry out of the pages of National Geographic. Occupying time under these circumstances is crucial. Don’t sit and bing TV all day. And, you can’t cook and bake all day for obvious reasons. I have always done jigsaw puzzles but they are really hard to find right now and have doubled in price. Try your local Goodwill, I bought about 10 after Christmas for $2 apiece, unopened. Kids don’t really do that any more— just electronics. Get creative. Here in Southern California we don’t really have a winter so we are seldom not able to get outside.
