I completed a 36 hour Water Fast from 8pm on Fri.Apr.2nd to 12pm on Sun.Apr.5th!! Very proud of myself :D
I did this as a trial to see how things went. I'm not going to jump into extremes, as this is dangerous. I worked my way up to extended fasting by doing a 16:8 fast for several days, and then a 20:4 fast for several days.
At noon on Sunday I broke my fast by drinking diet soda. I worked my way up to a big dinner by progressively eating a lot of different things here and there. I wanted to begin a Keto Diet, but the groceries and leftovers in the Kitchen were not oriented to this sort of meal plan. I broke ketosis by eating a lot of the leftovers and had cereal to finish of the last of my milk. Dinner that evening was magnificent. I grilled spinach with a chopped roma tomato, and then grilled 2 chicken breasts with rosemary, thyme, garlic salt, and mushrooms.
Once I am finished with all of my items that are not so Keto-Friendly, I think I'll attempt another Water Fast for a slightly longer period of time. I will purchase electrolyte powder and necessary supplements in order to be as safe as possible during extended fasts! Today I'm eating a normal 16:8. I'll transition back to one big meal of 20:4 with lots of protein and fat to prepare my body for ketosis and my next water fast!
