I tried the Atkins diet twice. Now, I did lose up to 10 lbs during the Induction Phase. After the first phase, I gained it all back. I'm not saying Atkins doesn't work since I know it is very successful for many people. But, I kind of went on a carbs binge after trying to reintroduce carbs into my diet and this is my problem: carbs are the reason I gain weight YET I cannot live without whole grains and breads...I literally can't. I was absolutely MISERABLE during the Induction Phase and was starving...I'm sure if I had more time and money to cook all of the wonderful recipes from the Atkins book I would have been way more fulfilled feeling and less miserable. In short, Atkins isn't for me.
So, where does that leave me? I am a newlywed (married May 19th this year!) and I still want to look hot for my honey...but mostly for me and looking good for the summer time! I will try to do my own diet yet I'm not really sure what I am doing. Eating healthier, loving myself a little more, and getting some exercise in once a day (whether a run or a bike ride or just a walk). Hopefully this will not only make me a healthier person, but a happier person as well. :)
