oops. let the kids order Chinese and although I ate some of the beef and broccoli, I also ate a couple of grains of rice and three pieces of orange chicken - which I think is floured before it is fried. And it must have some sugar on it. But consideing that I haven't snuck into the candy jar once while here, I'm giving myself a bye. The good thing about not having a scale here is that in the past, if it went up, I would just give up completely. Just throw in the towel. So even though I feel "fatter" today, I will try to stick to the diet. I boiled a dozen eggs yesterday and ate two for lunch and just had two for breakfast. Boy, do I feel fat today. And I didn't even eat my egg roll.

got on my son's laptop and will try to keep up here. They don't have a scale so I will have to wait until next week to weigh in. But have been very good so far, considering they had pizza sitting around. Just ate salads, though. And nuts and some dried beef. Brought a couple of those GV drink mixes. orange and lemonade. They really do break up just drinking water. I don't have a pitcher made up, just drop some into the plastic bottle. The grape did leave an aftertaste but the orange and lemonade seem quite good. Will check and see about doubling the water when I get home and make my own pitcher up. Hard to tell my ratios when just adding to a bottle of water. Thanks, though. Glad to have them.
Walked the baby around yesterday but here in Phoenix, it's still hot-hot some parts of the day. Not for me, but for the baby. Have to keep him covered and out of the sun. But I plan to take a walk this evening when they are both back. Gotta move this body some.
Wow...those fires in California. Scary. Have family and friends in Orange County.

Taking off today to see our son's family. Taking some OK snack foods with me and hoping that I can stay on the diet while there. Watching the grandson so won't have any opportunity for exercise. Maybe at night when all are home, I can take walks. Have maintained weight loss but was really chomping at the bit for something sweet. Ate a Weight Watchers sugarless ice cream but stayed on the diet 100% the rest of the day. Really tempted last night. Big temptation to find more sweets but grabbed a handful of mixed nuts instead. Drank all my water - pee'd alot. And got those Great Value sugarless drink mixes. Made up the grape and it still has that artificial sugar after-taste.
Hope the rest of you hang in there. I'll be thinking of you.

Took care of alot of paperwork and for some reason, tons of phone calls. I would hardly put the phone down and there would be another call. So finally, Lightning (our dog) and I got outside for a nice long walk. Also, rode the exercise bike for a 110 calorie expenditure. And it paid off. Thought that the scales would actually go up with all my activity but as you can see, it keeps dropping. Of course, this is the first part, the last weight put on. So it should be dropping this fast. Will be gone for a week with our grandson in Phoenix and will do everything I can to stay on the diet. Will try to pack some things so that I have something on hand. Will lettuce set off the alarms at the airport?

Losing 3.2 kg a Week
19 October 2007
Friday. A couple more days on my own. Trying to stay good but was thirsty for something other than water. Drank some orange juice mixed with cranberry last night. Will make up some Crystal Light but artificial sugared things leave a dry, funny taste in my mouth. Not always refreshing. Does someone else have some suggestions? Even diet sodas, of which I drink about 1-2 a week, maybe, leave my mouth dry and bitter. I do like the plain fizzy water, no calories, no fat, no anything that have a lemon or lime "waved" over them. But any ideas for other thirst quenchers would be appreciated.
