Hello Fatsecret World!
So,I started using the app. "Lose It" on my iPhone, and have been pleased with it thus far. I was telling a friend about the app. when she told me about Fatsecret. Then a mutual friend told me about it as well. It seems like it has similar features, but connected to a supportive community, so I'm excited to join!
I have done different diets before, but I just wanted something that would hold me accountable. I think something that can track/calculate the calories for you makes watching what you eat that much simpler. I find it painful to eat a brownie knowing how many calories are actually in it, so it makes me think before I consume. But, if I do really want that brownie, by golly, I'm going to eat it, and then adjust something else from what I eat that day. I think that's what I'd been missing before. I'd always justify the cupcake, but forget the brownie I'd eaten for lunch, and the donut for breakfast. To be truthful, I didn't eat like that everyday, but enough to gain weight. Add to that a slowing metabolism with a near sedentary life and you have slow and steady weight gain.
The bright side is that I've maintained for a few years now without much gain, but I'd like to slowly take some of that weight off. I don't have crazy goals, and crazy expectations. I just want to live healthy and still enjoy food.
So this ended up a little longer than I'd originally expected, but I guess that's just me! I'm glad to try something new!
