The guy I just started dating works out a bunch and loves to run, so he suggested we go for a run this weekend. I would normally be fine with this because I also love to workout and run, but since I had several injuries this spring, I just haven't gotten my endurance up where I want it. I decided to run 3.2 miles for hte first time since high school today (I got to thinking and I'm pretty sure I haven't run more than 3 miles in the eight years since I've been out) and I expected my time to be awful. After all, I hadn't run for nine weeks before starting running five weeks ago.
Not only did I run it without major problems, I also ran it under 30:00, which I couldn't believe. My first two years in cross country I BARELY got under 30:00 at the END of the season, with heavy training every day. It feels SO GOOD.
With all of this working out + working out with him, I'm definitely going to drop the inches!

I've somehow managed to get a bone bruise on the top of my right foot, right over the ball. I don't know how it happened, but my guess is that it has something to do with the worn out pair of heels I wore this week that were digging into that area on my foot, then not helping that at all by wearing heels the rest of the week, so it just kept getting worse. It's a bad enough bruise that it hurts to walk. I decided to gingerly test it at the gym, which is where I'm at right now, and it doesn't feel very good on the elliptical, one of the easiest cardios. I guess it'll just be weight lifting for me tonight!

I made the mistake of making peach cobbler and buying a pizza this last weekend. While I'm doing well with the portions and still staying below on the calorie count, I could have been eating healthier. My calorie count could have been lower. I could have lost a pound this week instead of just working these muscles.
To make it even worse, I have a date tomorrow and possibly one on Saturday as well! Eek!
I guess I better work hard Thursday and Saturday mornings, then!

On Saturday I wore a dress I last wore in mid July, so not all that long ago. On that day, the belt I wore at my waist had half an inch of tail on it. On Saturday that tail was three inches long! I couldn't believe it! I'm only weighing myself once a week and judging how my clothes fit so I don't become too obsessed with the numbers, so since my clothes just felt a bit better and I've lost only a pound this was an amazing surprise! It was definitely great motivation for yesterday's workout, which was super tough. I'm on my way!

Not really by choice, but today will have to be my bye day for workout. My pecs are just too sore and my legs still feel like rubber from my interval sprints I did yesterday. I think I'll just do some yoga when I get home and before bed.

Today's goal: 1500 calories. That means dinner can only be about 350 calories, eek! Luckily, I have plans for mainly veggies for dinner, so it should be tooooo hard.
