Gaining 0.0 kg a Week

No change. Which is fine. Anticipating a plateau. Leaving on a trip out of country this morning which will make it challenging to stick to my diet but will use this mobile app to stay on track. Or close to it. Have a great weekend everyone!!

The scale reflects another pound gone, this morning. I'll take it although I know the rapid loss will plateau imminently. One (hopefully) temporary downside to the whole foods plantbased diet? My intestinal tract is having a hard time dealing with the huge increase in fiber content. No discomfort or anything but definitely not my usual self in that department.
For the last 5 days my wife and I have had to keep our distance and mask up in the house, and sleep in different rooms. This was because she had to go to a funeral - with a large family gathering - last weekend in Atlanta. I have to do a Covid test today for an out of country trip which starts on Friday so we couldn't take the chance of me being 'accidently' infected...
So we have been unable to experience one usual good side-effect of a plantbased diet - better blood flow to ALL the organs. After one final Covid test (for my wife) this morning, we will be able to resume normality which will include a bit of a 'date night' tonight. So we shall see. Based on past experience I do not anticipate any problems. To the contrary. Some of you may have had the same experience.

Losing 3.8 kg a Week
02 February 2022
Over just 3 weeks, a strict whole foods plant-based diet with no added oil/fat is showing some promising results: down several pounds and heading solidly for 170...
Significant lowering of blood pressure from average being around 120/80 to 112/74 this morning, about 8 points lower on systolic and 6 points on diastolic readings. On average my daily fat intake is less than 15%, with protein in the same range, and carbohydrates (but none of it processed) around 70%. This is a diet which has been used (in the medical field) as an intervention for people with type 2 diabetes and heart disease, as well as hypertension. It works just fine for average healthy people too - as long as you can forego the candy, chocolates, cookies, bread, any & all animal products, cheese and chips...

Losing 1.1 kg a Week

I know this rate of weight loss can't be sustained - something around 2 lbs per week is about the maximum one can or should do safely, and to ensure long-term success. Crash diets are never a good idea. Even so, it is good to feel the pounds come off so quickly at the start of a period of carefully checking calorie intake. I will take it as long as it is happening...
