Back to work! The holiday went by much too fast. One down, two to go (Christmas and New Year's, two other big "food" celebrations.) So far, so good.
Tonight I was WAY HUNGRY when I got home from work...so "fast" was in order. I wound up making a cheese omlette, which was hot, fast and filling. With Bob at work, I eat alone Monday and Tuesday each week at dinner, and it used to be my night to go through the drive through, a definite addiction...Now there's one drive through that I allow myself, and that's a grilled chicken place. Having gotten into the very bad habit of going through the golden arches at least once a week, it's a major win that I haven't been there except for a cup of coffee for almost a month.
Stringing those days together, one at a time.

Down another 2 pounds. I walked and rode my bike a couple of times this week, and I did watch the food pretty closely. I am grateful to be "in the zone", and just for today, I will plan what I eat and eat what I plan.

Losing 0.9 kg a Week

Today is a quiet day. Bob is asleep, he works 3rd shift 2 nights a week, and so has a sleep day after he gets home. The puppies are curled up with him, and I'm enjoying the peace.
I'm roasting a turkey breast today, since we didn't cook the turkey this year for Thanksgiving. My side dishes will be roasted veggies, some sugar-free cranberry jello w/nuts & celery, and a side salad. We will have sugar free pumpkin pie for dessert or a sugar free fudge cicle, whichever strikes our fancy.
I walked the puppies for an hour last night, and today took a 20 minute bike ride on my "beach bike" - fat tires, peddle brakes...my kind of bike! Our neighborhood is huge, so there are plenty of different routes to take.
I hope everyone is having a terrific holiday weekend!

Well, it's over! The big feast. I learned today that I could not only go to a huge Thanksgiving day feast and stay on plan, I could enjoy my time with our friends. We had 14 people at the dinner, and some of the best cooks I know brought all their favorites, all loaded with super-high carbs. I told myself before I got there today that I would be able to enjoy the day and I wouldn't leave hungry, even if it turned out all I could eat was roasted turkey!
I took my pumpkin pie made with Splenda, and scraped off the custard from the crust and enjoyed my slice...And again, it was an unexpected blessing that there was another person there also doing a low carb thing, who also brought "safe" food that I could enjoy.
I am in the zone for today, and it went really well. I don't know what puts me in the zone, but when I'm there, NOTHING can sway me. There are so many more days when I would say "Zone? What zone?" I'm really glad it happened to hit today.

Got the walk in this weekend. Went to St. Pete beach on Sunday to be a speaker on a panel for a conference, and was treated to lunch. Fortunately lunch was a lovely salad bar, so I was able to pick and choose exactly what I wanted. As fate would have it, a fellow panel member has been on the SB diet since January 06, and has lost a remarkable 55 pounds, and has been maintaining the loss for about 3 months. (Male, seems men DO drop weight so fast!). I told him he was my hero, and asked if he had any wisdom.
Boiled down, it's "plan what you eat and then eat what you plan." He said that helped him stay on track. I think I'll post that in "tips!"
