So I'm struggling again with wanting to eat junk again.
Today I want chocolate chip cookies. I don't know what's going on with me. I feel like I'm losing control. I love the stuff I'm eating and trying to mix it up. Even made a One-Minute Muffin this morning - took me about 10 as I don't own a microwave. It was delish! I made it like a pancake. I put blueberries on it and was so excited. Now, I saw homemade chocolate chip cookies in the building and that's all I can think about. I do not care for this feeling one bit! Part of me thinks I should have a cheat day and get over it. The other part feels like I'd like to see some more loss before I cheat. Then another part of me thinks that if I don't cheat I'm going to give up on the whole thing because my urge for cookies and chips and crap is driving me batty. I don't know what to do but I don't like how I'm feeling one bit!

So yesterday I went 1 net carb over my plan of staying in Phase 2 at 25 net carbs a day for a bit. I felt out of control! I settled down and realized that it wasn't that big of a deal. TODAY however, I'm craving salt and vinegar chips. Almost bought some out of the cafe but went with pumpkin seeds instead. Of course the pumpkin seeds are old and taste like crap so I'm not eating them. I'll wait until I get home from work make dinner. I dunno though, something is making me want to eat crap and it ain't TOM cuz he's gone. I don't have my first scheduled cheat day planned until 3/13 (my birthday). I feel like that's ok. Now, I just hope I can hold out. One meal at a time!

Alright, ok, we're good. I've moved on to Phase 2 this week; increased net carbs to 25 and added fruit and nuts. I'm still losing. Some of it could have been actual loss during TOM that is just now presenting itself. Either way it's loss and I'm grateful. My calories have increased and though we aren't to be counting them necessarily it's still good to stay within 1500-1800 I believe for us ladies. I have stayed within that but for me I think unless I'm exercising I should strive to stay around 1300. I'll adjust my choices. I also think I can start adding the exercise now that I'm comfortable with how my body reacts to low-carb. I plan to stay at the 25 net carbs part of phase 2 for a while. I really just needed the variety. Some days I'm still not breaking 20 net carbs so I think I have the carb thing under decent control. I'm really doing this! I'M REALLY DOING THIS!

So I'm doing awesome with the low-carb thing. The 2 weeks I was in Induction I never went over 20 net carbs and was so all about maximizing my veggies. Now I'm 4 days into giving phase 2 a try. You start off with 25 net carbs. I'm still not going past that and still trying to eat as many veggies and berries as allowed. Yesterday I only took in like 15 net carbs. HOWEVER, my calories have been going up ever since my stupid TOM came into town. I'm maxing out at like 1600 sometimes but when I first started I was sticking around 1200. I'm finding that it's the fatty stuff with all the calories. I know I sound stupid saying that... of course the fatty stuff has more calories but i don't know. I haven't weighed in yet for Phase 2 but if my loss is like a pound then I'm gonna have to seriously get my calories in check. Practice not perfection. I'm totally dedicated to eating better and feeling better and losing weight so I'll keep trying to figure it all out. Also, I may have a problem with my nightly Atkins Endulge Caramel Nut Chew Bar. There just so darn good!

I made it through induction and am on to phase 2. I've read about all the phases, what to eat, the importance of net-carbs by way of veggies, when to move on, how to move on. Although I do have more than 30lbs to lose I needed more variety in my diet. Yesterday I had blueberries and sunflower seeds. Total excitement! I swear I'm eating more veggies and now fruit than ever before. Even though I'm only eating like one serving of berries a day sadly that is more than I used to eat. I'm still weighing out and tracking all of my food. It feels less like a burden and more like a way of life. I'm feeling good about it!
