Can't believe I've lost another pound, down to 123, despite Thanksgiving & the parties starting, temptation all around. Fell a little bit off the wagon, but next day back to my diet, the first one I've ever loved. It's become a kind of refuge, just thinking about it, because I NEVER want that weight back on again. But there's still more holiday season to get through, right? Eeyew, what's the MATTER with people, bring pizza & junk into the office like that? Equating being happy with eating? People down through history have been celebrating Christmas without a whole month orgy of eating. I keep reminding myself of that. And think of the chocolate that's included in my diet, which is pretty comforting.

Made it through Thanksgiving with loss only leveling off, but nothing gained. Now dreading Xmas calories. Our whole culture is drowning in junk food! I tried to go gift-shopping Sunday. Everywhere, retailers frantic you won't buy are pushing cookies & stuff at you.
One thing I've learned: succumb once & it's a binge. The trick is learning NOT to accept that first cookie or whatever. I used to be afraid of hurting feelings. Lately I've discovered that just saying "Thanks, I'm struggling to stick to a diet" gets some respect. Or at least an Oh poor you face, but no argument.
I can deal with that. Yay, I can!

I haven't been posting, been so busy, but hey all, I HAVE been losing weight! I'm so happy and excited. It's been coming off at the rate of maybe 1 - 1/2 pound a week. (More than that at first, but I'm encouraged, feel closer to goal, and have upped to 1400-1500 calories a day.) I'm combining diet & exercise too (brisk walking), but the thing about this new diet I've been on for nearly two months is, for the first time -- no boredom or cravings.
My new diet emphasizes natural, unsweetened cocoa combined with splenda. Unsweetened cocoa, apparently, really really is a drug. Helps you both physically and emotionally, like a mood elevator. This diet is the best I've ever found. It includes No Sugar No Fat brownies, blondies, quiche, cookies -- all no sugar no fat! Another amazing thing is, I'm learning to cook and bake and I love it. It's fun. I never dreamed you could do so much with liquid egg whites.
So the weight's coming off. Now I'm dreading the holidays. Relatives pushing food at me! Eat, eat! Don't you like it? I so want to resist. Fingers crossed. I want to stay feeling good.
