I'm 43, a cartoonist/animator and a mother of one. For the last month I've been on a restricted calorie high carb diet, to little avail. I lost less than 4 pounds and my waistline stayed pretty much the same. I keep hearing about the SBD and low carb diets and how effective they are, so I'm sacrificing my beloved bread, booze and crackers and giving South Beach a shot.
/update
While I take Levothroid to manage my hypothyroidism, I'm also working to tailor my diet and exercise program to compliment my hormone therapy. This means turning my usual food intake schedule on it's head; where I used to skip breakfast and do most of my heavy eating late at night over a glass (or 3) of wine while I browsed the web, now I'm adjusting to eating my biggest meal at breakfast and consuming less as the day goes on. Getting to bed earlier is already proving to be the toughest part for me. (It's 1:37 AM as I type this...groan)
It's not even 2 weeks yet and already I feel much better. Here's to the journey!
