I am aiming to eat a caloric ratio diet with the USDA Pyramid system, avoiding starchy vegetables like peas.
I modify the Food Groups by counting potatoes, and other starches as in the "Grains" group. I don't eat anything white, not even the sugar in my coffee. I aim for varied protein sources, so that I don't only eat beef, which I love. I am sadly totally unmotivated and lazy about exercise, which is really what I need more than diet. I have always normally eaten well, and am now within my ideal range. I can stay there without dieting, but I won't be carrying muscle, but fat.
I really need willpower to sweat. The diet is easy.
Oh, and I can't ever eat boring food, so mostly I find healthier substitutions for what I do eat. It's easy. And I exercise portion control, that's hard, but it gets easier. And of course, trying to stick to a caloric ratio, which is still very carb heavy. Increasing the protein while limiting the fat is the worst.
