Single mom of an 18-year son with learning disabilities. I live in Western, NY and work as a college administrator.
Was a skinny girl until I hit college and gained the "freshman" 15! Developed an eating disorder after that and was then thin until I got pregnant with my son. Gained 60 pounds with my pregnancy and lost some of it, but then life just got in the way, and the next thing I knew I was 260 pounds and just miserable.
I had to have a hysterectomy 2 years ago, and while I was at home recovering I had my epiphany. I could choose to continue the way I was or I could take some action. So, I joined Weight Watchers and dropped 60 pounds. I have really embraced it as a life change and not as a diet as so many do. I don't deprive myself of anything, but just make better choices about what to eat and how much.
I joined this site because I still have a long way to go on my journey to get healthy. I've been in a rut and am hoping that this will help me get out!
