As I approach age 56, very little has changed. I discovered various health issues that contribute to my weight and am taking steps to correct them. I drink more water and I eat considerably less. I only lose water weight though. I joined a gym but I don't go.

As I approach age 49, I look back and realize that I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I am weary of fad diets that don't work, gimmicks, and my ever growing waistline. At this point, losing weight is more of a health issue than an aesthetic one and I have to finally admit that I can't do it alone. I'm making a committment to myself to control my eating, exercise more and live a healthier life. I believe that I can do it despite my past failures. At this point, I've run out of "second" chances and need to succeed.
