So had a Dr appt today and gained 3 lbs in ONE WEEK! 😡😡😡😡 I’m eating an average of 1000 calories a day (too low I know) and have been walking every night for no less than 30 minutes. Carb intake is averaging about 60g a day as well. My husband and I are on this journey together and he has lost more than 12lbs! My medical professionals assure me it’s water weight from menstrual. Let’s just hope that’s it because gaining weight while being so good as this new lifestyle was not what I had planned 😢

Do not give up! I promise the scale will move. Are you measuring inches too? That’s how I track. Arms, belly, thighs, and legs. If the scale does not move, I find little victories in inches!!

I agree inches tell the real story. I aways weigh more mid day and during my cycle, which also makes me bloat. someone can be the same height and weight as you but if their body composition is different (muscle to fat ratio) they may look 2 sizes less or more than you. of course body type may make a difference too.

Close to the end of my cycle I can put on up to 5 lbs overnight. It won't last though, you'll be back to your normal weight in a couple of days.

I think 3 lbs is within normal fluctuation levels. Am I wrong?

I fluctuate tone too with my cycle. Also, different scale??? Keep making good choices and reweigh after your cycle.

I always weigh more during the week of my menstrual. So I've decided to not weigh myself during that week. Don't talk that number too seriously. Also, remember when your body is going through changes, sometimes it's balancing it's self out. Holding on to more or less water. It sometimes seems random to us but we just have to trust the process. When we're making healthy changes.

Sometimes if I eat more calories for a couple of days and really up my fat intake and lower carbs (20 total or less) it helps the scale move downward. Hormone weight fluctuations are the devil!! Keep going, it will go down!

Hang in there. Even when we know that the scale can go 4-5 lbs. either side of true weight, we do tend to cringe when it's not in our favor. What matters it you are practising self-care. 🤗

The menstrual cycle can sometimes make women gain up to 10lbs just from water retention. You can’t gain 3lbs of weight either by combination of fat or muscle in a single week, unless you were completely binging by 1000s of calories every day, which even then would literally be a difficult task. So that 3lbs is 100% water weight. Pay no attention to it

definitely menstrual. keep doing what you're doing and weigh yourself again a few days after your period ends.

For T2D (like me) eating too much carbs causes inflammation, water retention, and fat gain. Eating keto, my A1c and glucose readings have come down into the normal range, without any medications. Check out Blog.VirtaHealth.com for their research and successes with reversing T2D.
