Positive. I don't do a ton of it, but I've done several days of 18/6, and my feeling is that it's a good protocol. It has changed the way I eat in general, meaning, I don't eat after 6 or 7 PM, even when not IFing. I think it may be different for women, so do your research. As long as you're not pregnant or nursing, I'm pretty sure it's fine.

I do the 18/6 fasting pretty much every day except weekends and I love it.

I have just started to do it. I didn't think I ever could - but it has been easy as I became more fat-adapted.

Does it matter what time of day you fast? I can easily not eat after 3 or 4pm, but am starving in the morning!

I don't think that it matters what time of day, whatever works for you. I think most people would like to get as much of their fasting time during sleep, but that's only about eight hours. So, add four hours after you wake-up and fours before you go to sleep. But it doesn't have to be that way to meet an 18/6 goal.

I do 23:1 daily, and try to go two or three days straight once a week. Works well.

I truly started loosing weight each and every week, when I started this WOE , I only eat lunch and dinner, but I do have to have my coffee fix, so usually between 8 and 12 next day 16-8, it also put my A1C in line for first time, so now off of Diabetes meds.In my research I found for me that it is not always the foods you eat, but the insulin release in foods in the body stops weight loss...Good luck

I also used my own body fat as my fat source , instead of using additional fats and intake,This also kept my weight loss going doing a modified KETO, Please believe me I had plenty of fat to use on my body..!!

Im down with Rosio.... it just makes me feel so energized.... but your choice of foods you eat when your off fasting makes a huge difference to me anyway...its individualized imo... but I really enjoy it...hope you have success with finding an answer xoxoxo;)

I started with 16/8 (skip breakfast). then eventually 20/4. Now I do OMAD, it works great. I have no reason to not do it. You have been programmed to eat 3 times a day because that's what everyone believes is correct. Initially hunger pains will be a thing. Drink water and you will be fine. It does get easier. The only thing is with IF or OMAD you still must make sure you eat your daily caloric intake instead of just forgetting to eat.

Also it's easiest to fast through the night obviously. So you could fast from 8pm-12pm then eat 2 times within the next 8 hours, or eat continuously through those 8 hours.

I do 16/8 as well! My calories stay lower and I combine with Keto also! Down almost 80 pounds since June 2017 :)

Holy smokes, you guys are fantastic!!!! I may try this tonight. My only concern is eating enough in my 8 hour window. I'm already eating keto everything, just looking to maximize my results. :) I appreciate you all!

Trico1–I read an article that said starting your fast after lunch resulted in more weight loss than skipping breakfast?? Just find what works best for you!

I do about 60 hours fast every 2 weeks now (was weekly) and 2 days if 20/4 on my off weeks. breakfast only on weekends. not really keto or Paleo, but kinda low carb as try not to eat processed ever. I am down about 40lb, and I am looking at a six pack with a lot of muscle gain. just have to try and see for yourself really... I find it works better in the real world as I can eat a burger on normal days and still see weight loss, while keto or Paleo or calorie restriction makes it very difficult to have a normal life sometimes

I do 18fast/6eat and love it. It is amazing how our system adapt, I am not hungry in the morning or at night anymore. I have one "real" meal and will have a salad or smaller meal as I am not hungry for 2 regular size meal anymore. Good luck!

I love IF! I've become so accustomed to it that it doesn't even phase me to not eat before 2-3:00 in the afternoon. I usually do 18:6. Once a week I do a longer 24 hour fast. I feel so much energy and I've consistently dropped weight at a healthy pace. I just really focus on getting my full calories in during the eating window and I also am very conscious of healthy foods. Btw, I am also full Keto. Absolutely love Keto combined with IF. GOOD LUCK!! I think you'll do great!

I'm currently reading the book "the FastDiet" by Dr. Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer. I'm currently on Chapter 2, the FastDiet in Practice, followed by Chapter 3, the Menu Plans. So far, I'm liking what I'm reading about it, and as I do have a background in the medical field, it all seems to make sense to me. It's basically a 5:2 plan, where you eat normal calories 5 days a week, then 1/4 of your calories 2 non-consecutive days a week (roughly 500 calories for women, 600 for men). I can't really do Keto, because I am diabetic, and the Keto is just too restrictive for me. But if you're looking for an interesting read, I do suggest the book.

i run on 8/16 schedule and work 3rd shift. So my eating window shifts a little to so that if I need to I can snack when I am awake. It can be interesting but a little butter in my coffee gets me by till I can eat in my 8 hour window. When I am doing day time.. my window is from 3 pm to 11 pm When I have to be up all night my window is from 6 PM - 2 AM) I find that if I don't cheat I can maintain easily without hunger. If I cheat ... (oh BOY! is it hard to stay away from the family's stash of goodies) Try to eat a few hours before you go to bed Example dinner at 6 bet after 10 sleep till 6 and there's an easy 12.. keep to carb-less until 10 am and there you go easy.
