We stocked up the freezer with the Kraft South Beach Diet frozen meals. When we are on the run and don't have time to make something from the cookbook, we just grab one of those. We found 7-8 flavors that are Phase 1 friendly, and they are under $3.00 each. It's a good way to get some easy and quick variety in what you eat.

You can also eat lean cuts of meat like sirloin steak. You can use ground turkey to make burgers or meatloaf. You can also have lean cuts of ham & pork.

LittleMamaMickey.... how do you make meatloaf in phase 1? I've done the sirloin steak, pork chops and ham as well. I guess I just miss the pasta. It's so easy and soooooo yummy!!! I'm so used to the quick little pizzas or meatloaf or pasta. I need to change my thinking.
DRosvall.... good idea about the South Beach diet frozen dinners. I didn't think of that. Thanks!

For meatloaf I will go ahead & grind up whole oats to replace bread crumbs. I figure that per serving it is not that many carbs. I have also heard of grinding up flax seeds to replace bread crumbs however I haven't personally tried that.
I love pasta as well but I don't crave it anymore...soon you won't either!!

Thanks for the meatloaf recipe LMM. I'll give it a try. I am amazed that my cravings for things really ARE disappearing. The culinary arts teacher across from me made cupcakes yesterday. The aroma was intoxicating but I didn't crave to actually eat one. It was weird.
