We have Sunday night dinners at my MIL and tonight will be Chinese take out. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of running to the store for a frozen meal so I know exactly what's it it calorie wise.

Chinese take out has never proven to be a good option for me. No matter how careful I try to be

I went ahead and got steamed rice and steamed chicken and broccoli with sauce on the side! She asked me if I wanted brown or white sauce and I didn't go with brown because I know I'd probably eat the whole thing. Lol

That's good, you figured out what worked for you. We have an Asian restaurant near us that is very doable. I don't do any of the Chinese offerings which seem to be heavy on starch and msg. They have Japanese tuna dumplings that are sushi grade raw tuna pouches stuffed with avocado, "nothing else", served with wasabi. Then I order Tom yum soup, which is a spicy broth with non starchy vegetables and some shrimp and chicken added. Really clean simple flavor, no starch or added sugar, salt msg or salt. Sometimes I have some Thai coconut curry, no rice, no noodles, no msg, starch, or soy. I love eating there because there are great options for a person who is on keto.

For future reference look to Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Chicken and skip the rice or leave it at less than 1/4 cup (golf ball sized portion of steamed rice) portion of the main dish should be about size of school lunch milk carton, or softball, or so. Steamed veggies are a better bet if you can get a substitute, or if keto, barbecued pork is okay for a few pieces. 🙋🏻♀️ String bean chicken and cashew chicken are other good, if bland choices.
