Mellie Mel's Journal, 26 Feb 10

I feel the need to write everyday..to keep me focused on the task at hand. I ended up with no plans for lunch today as hubby ate what was going to be my lunch. Not a good thing for week one. It was so hard to try and figure out what I should eat, I decided on those Fresco Taco's from Taco Bell and I don't feel too guilty about it but I think I was actually going to have a panic attack trying to get something decent. It was the worst moment because when I don't plan is when I fail. I was fearful I was going to blow it all right there and end up quiting again....eat a bad meal and my brain goes, "Well you blew it at lunch just eat whatever you want for the rest of the day." Then this turns into, "You blew it yesterday eat what you want and you can start over tomorrow." and so on and so on...

Well the good thing is that you were able to find something decent to eat and didn't panic. That shows that you can do it when the plan goes awry. If anything, I think your husband eating your lunch may have been a very positive thing for you. Journaling does help as it keeps you focused as you have said but the important thing here is that you journaled this entry after the event. So relax, realize you're able to survive when the plan goes nuts and that you can come here and get support. Keep it up and you can get it done.

Oh Mellie, I had the same issue. Brain starts conspiring against me lol You did great in keeping your goals in focus and not feeling guilty about your lunch. I agree with the above comment that journaling after the fact will keep you focused, or at least bring you back to focus in you ever do slip. I find that logging all my food entries is what keeps me focussed too. Even if it's a baddie. It puts the meal in perspective for me and shows me how I can do better next time. Good on you for keeping it going. I'm noticing that I haven't had to give you a bump yet! hehe Awesome work :)
