I'm just maintaining, but that's okay for now. At least I've dropped the habit of buying bags of chocolate almonds and candy bars every day. I know what I need to do -- and that's ditch the sugar and refined carbs and add exercise. It's that simple. But it's not easy. As I gained weight over the last couple of years, I noticed that I was plateauing at certain weights. 215 was one plateau. Prior to that it was 211. The gains came as I let my candy addiction get out of control. The more you eat, the more you want. Having cut back, the urgent craving has definitely subsided. It is the devil!

It is an addiction for me, too. The diet experts still say eating 75% or above dark chocolate is good for us in moderation. I have some Lindt bars that I bought and still haven't eaten them ... 90%. (Not as good as good ol' milk chocolate, is it?) :o)

I am just plain giving up sweets, and that is including any substitute fake sweeteners, too. I simply cannot stop once I start.

M2B, you're right... I always prefer the milk chocolate over dark, but I can get used to it. Any chocolate is better than none!

Nanette, I swear, sweets are worse than crack. They should put giant warning labels on candy. I believe if candy were illegal, there would be more bloodshed from people trying to get their candy fix than with any other drug.
