Day 1
994 / noon to 7pm / 70 oz.

I got really hungry last Tuesday and indulged in rotisserie chicken.
Decided to loosen up the IF a bit and gauge my portions by how hungry I felt. That lasted through Friday, and after an episode of re-flux and feeling some bloat, I climbed back on the wagon. I'm going to have to do this for a long while in order to imprint the living habits of limiting my portions and eating within sensible hours of the day.

I know I talk a lot about the "lifestyle" vs the diet. The diet is actually the easy part - there is high motivation and goals to reach. But if the eating habits don't imprint, then the weight is gained right back. Then you get into the roller coaster of eating, which I think is unhealthy. I have developed some bad habits over the years that are directly related to some life circumstances. Of course I'm older now and would have to have made some changes anyway. But those bad habits are really what I battle everyday.

Oh I agree. My own experience in life has been roller coaster eating. When I loosen up just a little, I tend to go hog wild. I want to allow myself one day per month to have ice cream. But without some limit, I can eat a pint or two all by myself. So, the dilemma is to put it out of my mind completely or trust that I can set up a limit that I won't cross. It probably helps to not bring the special treat home, but to have it out at a ice cream shop, enjoy it fully, and then be done with it. Meanwhile, I'm back on track for this April and will save my one ice cream treat for the last weekend of the month.
