So, I'm exercising and reducing my calories, and I wake up to a 4 lb increase this morning. I'm really hoping it's some sort of water weight fluctuation. Ugh.

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I had lost 2 pounds and woke up one morning to a four pound increase. Thankfully, not all motivation was lost, so I continued to diet and exercise like I normally had and watched my calories extra close. It ended up being my "lady friend" was in town, and several days later I lost the four pounds plus two! I was ecstatic. Being a woman sucks sometimes, doesn't it? lol. Good luck, I hope it works out okay!!!

Well if you are just starting an exercise program, your muscles can retain water which can show on the scale as a temporary gain. It could also be hormones, too much sodium yesterday, etc. Just stay on plan and drink water.

Thanks Katiekinz and Suzie161. I think I am starting to retain the water! I'm trying to drink it up. I like this site because I won't lose motivation.
