Yesterday I went in the direction of the 1200 kcals I wanted to try and did have a very small loss.
Coming back to this to add note on gym:
Treadmill 40 mins at 1.7 km/h Machine said had burned 740 kcals, but FatSecret has 40 mins treadmill as 359 kcals
Rowing machine 15 mins Machine said 120 kcals burned
Elliptical 15 mins level6, 0.6 kms, machine said 120 kcals burned
Bike machine 13 mins, 3 kms. Machine said 100 kcals burned
Weight training dumbells 3 kg x 20 each arm, 4 kg x 20 each arm, 3 kgs x and lift x 12. Pectoral x 15, Overhead bar x 15, Crunch x 15
Cycled back and forth to gym and used bike to go shopping so about an hour cycling
Calories burned is all fantasy of course, but my weight the next morning was 141 lbs precisely, so a drop of 0.4 lbs.

Give it time, sometimes you see it the next day. Often comes all at once.

Thank you OliverBe, I've been thinking about the oat breakfast myself. On the Quaker oats pack it says to use 40g of oats with 300 mls of milk, so that is what I've been doing, but the portion seems to leave me so I am not hungry well past lunchtime. I think I'll try a half portion and see how I get on. Mind you, in this weather oats can be very useful when you are going out. I'm off to the German market in Birmingham tomorrow, so I'll see how it goes.
