I took out a Discovery Life Policy in June and I was registered for their Vitality benefits.
The gym I go to has one of those Discovery Vitality devices and I now earn 100 points everytime I go to gym :) That's cool because its a private owned gym and not one of the big franchises like Virgin Active. So I logged into my Vitality profile today to see what my points are and what my benefits are and I was impressed.
I was started on Blue status and after filling a few online assessments today I earned enough points to get me to Bronze status. I cant believe how much my journey on FatSecret has affected my health until I filled in those surveys because it needed my health information and rewarded me for being healthy which I would not have been had I not lost the 30kg.
I now qualify for 15% cashback at Pick n Pay stores and if I do the Vitality Health Check at a Clicks branch I will increase that to a 25% cash back. They give me a monthly limit of R2000 in purchases so that will allow me to get a maximum of R500 per month cashback on healthy foods amounting to R2000 and I earn 20 points on every healthy food purchased.
In today's inflation rate, such benefits are quiet appreciated :)
These incentives really can help give you a reason to make healthier choices. Just wanted to share this experience with you all as it does motivate me to get rewarded for healthy choices.

you really do get alot of benefits....try doing their fitness test as well, go to a biokinetesist and ask them if they do the vitality assessment, if they do then you'll get a good breakdown of your current health status and how and where you can improve on, also it netts you a ton of points, I'm currently on gold status and it's well worth it....also look in ur area if there is a vitality park run on weekends i.e sat mornings, its a 5km run and they track ur time so u can improve on it, also netts u sum good points.......earn point for bigger discounts while getting fit is a pretty good deal in itself lol
